Thanks for nothing, thanks for not providing adequete respite care, thanks for the no increase in carers allowance, and most of all thanks for wasting all that money on consultations that could have been paid to carers. I was quite looking forward to going out today to an event organised by CUK but that's not possible because my Mum isn't well enough to leave on her own not even for a couple of hours. So with no adequete respite care in place that (because I don't get any on a regular basis anyway) couple of hours of potential fun is down the tubes , or up the swanee, as is the meal out this evening that me an OH had planned. Both would have been a nice birthday treat, so all I have to thank the government for is another crap birthday which has turned out to be just like every other day of the year. PaulaH	# Posted: 11 Jun 2008 09:19 Reply I downloaded the summary (31 pages instead of 168) in the faint hope there would be something relevant to me in it - there wasn't. In the interests of recycling I've threaded the document onto string and hung it in the loo - that's all it's really fit for. In the age old scenario of pigeon/statue carers are again the statue and have been cr*pped on from a great height by the government pigeons. Thanks for nowt Gordon!
Jake	# Posted: 13 Jun 2008 05:10 Reply Thy might listen good, but like the 3 wise monkeys they also have their shortcomings, it might be better if the took advice from 3 monkeys and worked together !, instead of using their shortcomings as an excuse.

It promises an excellent vision to meet carers needs and them fails to deliver the means or will to make it reality. You need your copy because we need to burn copies of it outside carers centres across the land. We can't let them get away with this. Come and discuss this in the discussion group.
